          Frequently Asked Questions

          • Are cell phones or other electronic devices allowed in the salt booth?

The light and heat are harmful to your devices. Please leave all technology outside the booth.

          • Can I wear my contacts or glasses?

Contact lenses can be worn inside a sauna because they will remain at body temperature.

          • What should I wear?

Wear minimal clothing to allow for maximum skin exposure. Examples include: swim suits, tank tops & work out shorts.

          • Do I need to shower after?

When you finish your sauna session, it’s important to allow 30 minutes for a cool-down period while your body continues to perspire. Then, take a shower to prevent your body from reabsorbing the toxins.

          • How long should I go in?

When you first begin, start slowly with 20-minute sessions. You may not sweat the first 2-3 sessions, as we’ve trained our bodies not to sweat. As the body continue to adjust, sweating can increase dramatically and body temperature regulation becomes more effective.

Do not overheat during your first few sessions. If you feel light headed, have a queasy stomach or start to get a headache, terminate the session immediately.

          • How often should I visit?

For optimal health, most people do 30-40-minute sessions three times a week. Your body needs around ten minutes to start sweating, with a minimum of 20 minutes of active sweating. You may feel some relief after just one session, but for the best results, we recommend a series of treatments. Get ready to feel amazing!

          • What should I be doing to help make for a better experience?

Take a moment to unwind and take deep breaths. Embrace stretching: By gently stretching your arms, legs, neck, and back throughout your session, you can enhance body flexibility, improve range of motion, and alleviate chronic stiffness and tension. Focus on massaging tight and congested muscle areas for ultimate relaxation and relief.

          • How much should I be sweating?

Don’t worry if you don’t sweat much during the initial sessions – it’s totally normal. Initially, our bodies adapt to the new environment, but after a few sessions, sweating will resume. Remember to gently wipe off any sweat to ensure that you don’t reabsorb toxins. To keep things clean and comfortable, place layers of towels on the bench seat to absorb perspiration. And don’t forget, the far infrared will still penetrate through your clothing and towels, so you’ll continue to experience its benefits!

          • Do I need to drink water?

Staying properly hydrated is essential for maximizing the benefits of using an infrared sauna. It’s important to drink plenty of fluids before, during, and after your sauna session. Replenishing electrolytes like calcium, magnesium, sodium, and potassium is crucial since these minerals are lost through sweating. Ensuring you stay hydrated not only supports your body’s overall well-being but also helps in burning more fat for energy. For your safety, we kindly ask that you refrain from bringing plastic bottled drinks into the sauna to prevent any toxins from the plastic contaminating your water. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

          • Can I exercise before my infrared session?

Wait 20-30 minutes after strenuous exercise to use your infrared sauna. Allow your body to cool down completely before entering the sauna. When you use an infrared sauna, you activate a different branch of your involuntary nervous system. The infrared sauna supplies your body heat passivelyRemember to wait 20-30 minutes after strenuous exercise before using your infrared sauna. Unlike a physical workout, the infrared sauna supplies your body heat passively instead of actively. instead of actively, as in a physical workout.

          • Can I eat right before my session?

Wait for an hour or two after a meal before engaging in infrared sauna therapy. Infrared Therapy right after a meal may interfere with proper digestion and cause mild stomach cramps.

          • When do I need to get out?

Danger signals include a rapid increase of body temperature, a noticeable “racing” of the heartbeat, extreme redness of the skin and feeling light headed or extremely faint. If you notice any of these symptoms, end your sauna session immediately. Occurrences of this nature are very rare.

          Infrared Sauna Safety & Precautions

Infrared saunas are safe and beneficial for the vast majority of people worldwide. The following precautions and recommendations are provided to ensure a prudent, comfortable, and productive infrared sauna experience.

          Elderly
Moderate sauna use is safe for most older adults. Individuals with diabetes, heart conditions, circulatory issues, or those taking prescription medications should consult their physician. Age alone is not a contraindication—many clients well into their 90s enjoy regular infrared sauna sessions.
          Young Children
Children have a higher metabolic rate and are less adaptable to increased core temperatures. Ages 6–12 should limit sessions to 20 minutes, be accompanied by an adult, and start at lower temperatures. Children under 6 should avoid sauna use unless prescribed by a doctor. Teenagers may use safely with proper hydration and temperature awareness.
          Pregnant or Lactating Women
Pregnant women should limit sessions to 10 minutes, up to four times per week. Exposure to intense heat during the first trimester may slightly increase the risk of birth defects—consult your physician as opinions vary. During breastfeeding, it may be prudent to reduce or avoid intense sauna use due to limited evidence regarding toxin release.
          Menstrual Flow
Heating the lower back during menstruation may temporarily increase flow. Some women choose to continue sauna use without concern, while others prefer to avoid it. Many report relief from bloating, cramping, headaches, and discomfort.
          Implants
Metal implants generally reflect infrared rays and are not heated. Silicone implants may warm slightly but are typically safe under normal sauna conditions. Saline implants may warm as core temperature rises. Always consult your surgeon or implant manufacturer before use.
          Heat Sensitivity
Individuals with adrenal suppression, lupus, or multiple sclerosis may benefit from shorter sessions at lower temperatures. Those who cannot perspire or regulate body heat should generally avoid sauna use. Always consult a healthcare provider first.
          Recent Injury
Avoid heating injured areas for the first 48 hours or until swelling subsides. Begin with 15–20 minute sessions at 115–120°F and gradually increase. Gentle stretching combined with infrared heat may support rehabilitation once appropriate.
          Bleeding Disorders
Individuals with hemophilia or a predisposition to hemorrhage should avoid infrared sauna use, as increased circulation and vasodilation may elevate bleeding risk.
          Diabetes
Begin slowly and monitor blood sugar levels. Infrared sauna use does not increase blood glucose or glucose consumption, but awareness and moderation are recommended.
          High Blood Pressure
Infrared sauna use does not typically raise blood pressure. Increased circulation and vasodilation may support blood pressure reduction over time. Many individuals with limited mobility benefit from sauna use as a passive cardiovascular activity.
          Stents & Pacemakers
Many individuals with stents or pacemakers may safely use an infrared sauna. Always consult your physician and device manufacturer prior to use.
          Prescription Medications
Some medications may interact with infrared heat. Consult your physician regarding potential changes in medication effects. Certain antihistamines or corticosteroids may be contraindicated.
          Healing Reactions
During infrared sauna therapy, the body may eliminate stored residues from medications and toxins. Temporary symptoms such as fatigue, headaches, digestive changes, muscle aches, or skin reactions may occur and typically pass quickly. These reactions are considered part of the body’s natural detoxification and healing process.
